Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

TD is spared from layoffs. Good for me or else I will not get a job anywhere else

I am happy that TD ones will not be laid off. I am from TD. And no, I am not sarcastic.

I know, if I am laid off, I will not only get no job, but actually I am unemployable. Being a PhD in Physics for last many years at Intel, what I know the best is to wet clean a tool, change recipes in AM, glance at water maps, and look at charts every morning. Even though my job role us R&D, I know that's the R&D we do the best here at Intel.

Someone can ask me why don't I leave. But why will I? I am pretty satisfied doing this job over a decade now and I also know, as long as Intel is there I am safe. I already forgot what I did in my Ph.D and now I think once I loose this job, nobody will hire me even as a technician, forget about R&D.

So I love Intel . I love TD. I love manufacturing.

We all know when we give children everything they want, become spoiled brats, and LTD is the worst, LOL

On track ?

LTD is the reason for Intels current situation, totally embarrassing for everyone who was part of 10 or 7nm.

Ginormous egos in TD for what reason? Fire them all starting with the management fossils that have been there for decades.

Yet you have to put up with the insufferable d-bags in TD.

See the comment, what a pity, bunch of intellier don't even know what is TD, you guys live in cave or what? You don't read tech news and never heard of TD even though you might not work in TD?

Yeah, I'm just assuming they are intel engineer, maybe they are not.

What is TD? We are from an Asia based news organization who advocates for workers doing business in the communist state of GRCN. Thanks

So glad that Einstein, Feynman, Bohr, Heisenberg didn't work in TD.

You would not have a problem finding a new job probably a better job. Your just brainwashed by intel wearing the golden hand cuffs. Trust me I feel the same way but I have been looking and getting good offers. I will be accepting one soon, you should do the same.

Left intel TD a couple years ago. Just saying that you think you are unemployable, not true! The problem solving and data skills you used are valuable outside intel. Many College grads these days have no idea how to solve practical problems

Benchmarking for IDM 2.0 vs TSMC is going to show TD and most every function at Intel is way over staffed. You may be safe today, but you can expect another 15,000 job cuts in 2023

TD is safe this round. The quarterly highlighted two bloated divisions compared to their rivals TSMC/Nvidia/AMD: SG&A and TD. I'm in TD as well (and enjoy my work too), I know we're 'safe' for this round but I wouldn't count on so in the long or even mid term because while we're needed now we're still in the crosshairs. I would highly suggest to start making some contacts in IFS if you really want to stay in Intel or just sharpening your general skill set for statistics/data analytics/programming. It boggles me the amount of TD engineers who don't know how to code simple routines and hold meetings on how to prioritize work that a CS undergrad would take just 5 minutes to do.

No LTD is FUBAR and will never catch Samsung or TSMC, they will own those PHD hi--------s in Oregon.

OP thanks for confirming why Buffett did T buy Intel at it’s crazy low stock price, the truth becomes known, LOL

That PHD was no particular help for your language and writing skills, sorry to say.

A PhD doing operator work? My God I heard TD was bloated but jeebus. When Intel fails at IDM 2.0 due to ridiculous cost structure remember this dilly of a post. And no you are not safe, Intel had to cut $10B in cost. Slow blood letting next three years.

If you are really from TD, I will admit you are a brutally honest guy. This is really so so true!
