Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Manufacturing not affected?

From what I've seen and heard it doesn't look like manufacturing techs will be affected. Also looks like the build outs are still going.

PTD merged with D1, they're all one big happy family. And they had a mass hiring spree within a year; all these new people who are making $10-15 less an hr than the senior techs are fully trained up now and ready to replace the old timers, who complain about bonuses 25 years ago vs now. Budget cuts in Q1 easily made by doing the exact same thing they did during ACT2016. PG could care less just like BK.

@ayh+1jMUjFQ0 obviously doesn’t work at PTD. They still haven’t fully recovered from the 2016 layoffs and the resultant work environment. When you’re working at the limit of human capability, it takes years to master a discipline. This isn’t some pencil pushing, carpet dwelling job for people who talk for a living. There is no compromising or negotiating with the laws of physics. Treating people like this is a Walmart has lead to the current state of affairs.

Wishful thinking. Intel is not an icon for efficiency and you would be hard pressed not to find a department that couldn't survive cuts. Watch twitter, Elon will cut the headcount in half and you won't even notice it.
