Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

That culture keeps people around. It’s not just the wages.

Look, you can pay people whatever you want,” he said. “If you don‘t have the right culture, those folks will not stay around. And that’s what my team has been focused on. It‘s been focused on since we put in the transformation journey. I’m very proud of the culture that we put together, especially how we‘ve cared for people during the COVID also the Russia--Ukraine situation. That culture keeps people around. It’s not just the wages. And that‘s the way we think about it.”

DXC executives have shown the same behaviour since day one of the HP/CSC merger...6 years running. No raises, No promotions, Constant attrition. If you really embrace the culture/behaviour management projects, you'll realize that you should only look after yourself, as they do, and milk this company for all you can. Being disingenuous is standard procedure to deflect criticism or show you're part of the team.
If you really want a pay raise without leaving, It's not that hard to pick up an outside contract to work on concurrently with an outside firm. Most employers treat their contractors better than DXC does their employees. I did it a couple of times while I was still there. Even had my manager's approval for a while, though I wouldn't bother to ask these days...so what if they find out? You're miserable there anyway.
Or just do a few interviews and take a job offer without quitting DXC first. Use your unlimited vacation to test the waters before you actually quit. If you don't like the new job, you won't be stuck with it.

Such a great culture. I was WFR’d with almost no warning in the middle of a Covid lockdown.

Yeah, Mike, great culture you’re building there. So caring, NOT!

The culture is work from home and do the bare min. You are a fool if you do more than 10 hours a week. If you want a real job or career leave, that is the only solution. Otherwise collect your ever shrinking paycheck and start doing less and less. Seriously 10 hrs tops. What’s the worst that can happen? you get fired and are forced to get a real job. Hey that’s probably the best thing that could happen since you aren’t leaving on your own.

There is no culture of trust, which is probably one of the most important foundation stones in building the rest.

He’s ducking deluded

If it’s the culture, why did he take a pay rise? Why are his direct reports on pay rises. They weren’t exactly paid low to start off with.

Lying barstewards!
