Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

It's psychologically wrong what this company is doing

Allstate is trying to use fear and the unknown to get people to leave and not pay severence. Every day there are constant emails of new job opportunities and meetings a couple times a month about the layoffs to keep spreading fear and remind us layoffs are coming. I understand they want to get out of severence but it's sad they don't see their loyal workers as people. I am just going to wait. Go ahead and lay me off and I'll collect severence. I'm not going to leave a month before I could be laid off and let them off the hook and not get severence

It’s been wrong for years and many of you stuck around. Nickle and diming employees with weird raises, refusing to budge a few thousand dollars to retain talented personnel, and a complete lack of attention to the job market and economy. It’s no wonder the business results are subpar. This company has been bleeding talent for years and now there’s no turning back. Keep waiting for your severance. You may or may not get it.

My direct lead is retiring and they’re not replacing her. We’re being absorbed into different units. I’m EST and now have to change my hours to CST. Nothing I can do about it. It’s in some handbook they threw together for this kind of $h1t. Take it or leave it. I’m not going until they lay me off.

Fear is the price of severance…deal with it…even though I would be surprised if they pay one dime of severance or unemployment. That ship left the dock in 2020. Retirement eligible are fleeing by 11/30 because of the pension interest rate. Good move for them Many going to the vendor. Who they going to pay severance to after this all goes down?

Many that stick it out will be moved to the vendors thus eliminating a lot of potential severance candidates. Complete BS. Allstate found their legal way to fXXX us over and if they were smart enough to think of this in 2020 they would have done it then.

And you’d loose unemployment compensation too if you leave before the layoffs. No doubt they will make it as unbearable as possible to get you to quit. They’ve been doing it since November 2020. It’s the boa constrictor method. Squeeze you until you are over. They are not a good company. Period.
