Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Uncertainty doesn't have to be so awful

People generally tend not to take control of their careers. Everyone complains about great uncertainty, but there are many who are still not actively looking for new opportunities.
Why aren't those who are tormented by this uncertainty already looking for a new job?
I already have a plan B in case Intel no longer needs me, which is not ideal, but it is enough to reduce anxiety and excessive concern.

I don’t think it is easily explainable - I have a different mindset where my work is a fun thing I do and I made a choice to be at Intel. It doesn’t simply serve a function of income for me. I have a plan B and C, but because I am a spaz the anxiety is along for the ride.
