Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Will there be more cuts today?

I've seen in a few posts there were layoffs yesterday. Will they continue today? On a related note, isn't it sad that the only reason I know there were cuts yesterday is that I frequent this page? We're getting zero info from our management on the issue. So much for transparency.

It drives me nuts that the majority of the people in TR, are not aware of the layoff. I have no clue how many people let go and in which segment. I demand transparency!!!

@sxx+1jJs5rfk was told by fairy godmother that the horse carriage will turn into pumpkin ath midnight.

Why would a VP tell you if there will be or won't be anymore cuts? Are you licking your VPs boots?

The layoff notifications seem to happen on Tuesdays. The last several rounds have been Tuesdays. So probably safe for at least another 6 days or so.

They don't announce layoffs since that would be extremely bad for morale and PR. They don't want unnecessary attrition from the speculation the company is doing poorly on one side and they already have a difficult time hiring on the other.

Basically they want to do them so there is as little collateral damage as possible to the company.

Content operations was hit hard. Almost every team lost at least one and many of the teams were already down to single digits. Lots of people who don’t have 35 years yet. Make no mistake. They are trying to sc--w the old timers out of their pensions. People who suck at their jobs are being kept and the ones who have Close to 35 years are being cut. Total b.s.

Was told by my VP that there shouldn’t be more cuts after yesterday but we’ll see.

Yesterday MLF just announced some changes. The following is what seems to be the cuts: 2 Regional Managers for Client Management and 9 field CMs, and a bunch more virtual CM (estimating 10-15).

It is all about the stock price and until/if the stock price is negatively affected by lay offs nothing will change.

I’ve heard that there have been some emails going out in SLF this week for cuts. I haven’t seen them myself.

My guess is they are still finalizing things and we will get an update on everything in a week or so.

But yes. It’s stupid. This company tries to be “compassionate” through their rhetoric, but their actions always say otherwise.
