No, if you do it correctly you won't be fired. Go to your doctor and tell them you are stressed out and can't cope. Then you file for MLOA, and don't tell your manager anything. Just work it through HR. After that, you are done -- you don't need to go to work. You can just stay home and watch Kung Fu with Jennifer Aniston.
