Folsom site

Are they planning to restructure Folsom site by selling or leasing? I see not much activity as people working hybrid model

Well if they freed me from this prison
If that railroad train was mine
I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line
Far from Folsom prison, that's where I want to stay
And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away

250K left and how many came in, ZERO? Twist it to justify where you live, probably in the middle of nowhere in a ghetto state.

Not too much home building happening now... Fed raising rates. Mortgages too high for people. On top of that California is in serious decline. 250,000 people left last 12 months. Not a good place for a family these days. Be sure to turn the lights out if you are the last to leave.

@2ref+1jJbAt1r, they can demolish it and build new homes. On the other side of the highway across from FM site there are 40,000 homes being built. They will have no problem building new homes for bay area folks. They pay cash.

It may be a ghost town, but in case you haven't noticed California is not exactly a friendly state for high tech any more. With all the bay area tech companies laying people off that property would sit vacant for decades... and maybe never get leased out again.

They should shut it down. The parking lot is a ghost town. Why waste so much $$ on a facility that nobody uses.

Folsom was always a flagship campus, however so undeserving of it.

There was never any Fab in Folsom, so who knows why that campus was ever 🙄 critical?

It could easily be gone.

Couldn’t a wind farm go here?

If they go that route they could keep the Intel cafeteria but would need to improve the food quality to match the level of the prison mess hall.

One other option being worked on is having Folsom prison expand and work with Intel to purchase FM5 and FM6 buildings and build more prison cells. They just need to figure out a secure route for Intel employees to enter to other buildings. It's a perfect location for it and Folsom is very excited about the future of Folsom prison.

Just a rumor, but sounds like one option is to dismantle the buildings in a green-friendly way and then return the natural surroundings back to their original state and give the entire property back to the Native Americans who once roamed these lands. Still, it isn't official.
