I am fairly new to the company, about 7 months. Our segment recently announced that they would be putting people on performance plans. Can I be placed on a plan if 5 months of the 7 were on ramp or am I safe until I hit a tear of service?

Your 12 month rule is wrong, we just let someone go after 4 months because they did't sell 1 thing.
You will be put on a verbal (probably) before a written plan. Make sure your boss gets involved and gives you reasonable goals that are realistic.
Yes. You’re an “at will” employee. Look it up.
sounds like your group has a slacker problem. people not carrying their weight goals
Bye Bye.
If you are not selling you can be put on a plan. You need to sell, sell, sell. After that sell more.
They cannot do anything to you until you have 12 months in. Its still a good idea to keep a low profile in that first year. Ive seen several ex-employees who were put on a PIP shortly after getting their year in and then dismissed from the company.
