Of folks get anxious and just leave for another company.....no package is paid out.
If they stall long enough demand will come back and then when they need to hire and train it won't hurt/cost as much as if they laid off folks quickly.

  1. If we get enough people to volunteer to leave, it will reduce the number of people we have to publicly report as "laid-off". The lower the "laid-off" number, the better the optics for when we ask the government for money from the CHIPS Act.

How much is lost in productivity and quality vs the amount saved by pushing the yearly promotions by 1 qtr or waiting for ppl to leave on their own and forgo the pkg? Id--ts......

Worst layoff I've ever seen. Some groups have been told they are "safe." Let the others stew. Does wonders for morale and productivity.
