How about we rank our leaders like they rank us. And their salary is based on the ranking we give them. And when headcount reduction time comes, we know who to get rid of.

100% of the LL5 and 100% of LL3 should be put on a PIP and then fired
Everyone is force ranked. There is not enough merit or bonus to simply give 100% to all.
The system is degrading and discouraging as it discriminates those not in the friends club.
Imagine if 3 people in that room don't like you, because you made them look foolish because of their ignorance. You're screwed no matter how hard you work!
If you have a weak leader, they lose in the battle to fight for your ranking amongst other "leaders". It is the most unfair and biased system ever created.
That's exactly how it works. I've even been in meetings where they admit the retiree did a bang up job, but because Joe is no longer with the company, how about we take his bonus money and give it to John. I've also witnessed those who don't think the people working TWA should get the same bonus (even though it is prorated, based on their %), because they aren't working full time. At the end of the day, the bully in the room always wins. It is a rigged system.
So I’ve always wondered about this force ranking thing. Do the LL’s really sit around and discuss their direct reports? How does force ranking really work? There seemed to be a sub-culture where the supervisors kinda hung out together. I suppose it makes sense in the way officers are instructed to not fraternize with the enlisted in the Army but it somehow leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Imagine them all sitting around talking about their direct reports in not so flattering terms! Your career is pretty much decided for you in backroom meetings!
