I’ve been under a medical accommodation for years and an designated MyWork. Generally, it is a medical accommodation or geographic distance.

I’ve been in MyWork for several years and live 90+miles from nearest branch. My understanding is that medical reasons are generally approved but be aware of the drawbacks. You won’t be considered for other roles. Lowest person on totem pole in your work group. Forget any promotions. You’ll cover most of your expenses and tax laws no longer allows most unreimbursed business expenses s write offs. I only recommend when it’s the ONLY option, as it was for me.
I got a medical accommodation a couple years ago, and as a result I was placed into the MyWork program. Over half my team is MyWork, but it is due to they were in the program when it was reduced over five years ago and they were not near any operations locations that they could have been forced into. The program was reduced, not eliminated. It was a great way for the firm to abandon environmental preservation in favor of forced attrition. Your area management has the final decision. Criteria vary. Good luck.
MyWork was never eliminated, the program was just reduced in size. I work with quite a bit of MyWork people in my org and don’t see that changing anytime soon.
A medical accommodation can get you in the MyWork program. Not all medical accommodations are reviewed going forward. It’s not like someone with a permanent physical disability has to prove it over and over again.
MyWork and Medical Accommodation are different programs, but there are so few MyWork anymore that for people who want to keep working from home, they are using the Medical Accommodation route. Am hearing the team that reviews those requests, submitted forms/supporting docs, etc. is MONTHS behind as so many have flooded in. (no idea how to fact check that).
I'd be curious to know the criteria for MyWork as well, if it still exists.
I thought MyWork had been eliminated 4-5 years ago, and that anyone still working from home (pre-Covid) was either doing so with manager permission or on the "down low".
Employees are not treating equally when allowing a lot to work from home and others to RTO.
i thought medical accommodation does not fall under mywork now. I think they changed that recently to avoid a lot of people on my work.
medical accommodation they keep checking every so often to get renewal otherwise it's RTO.
mywork is for no space in office, specific role(lots of travel like a sales role), etc.
