Thread regarding IBM layoffs

PIP is a good time for job hunting

I believe it is better to use the time while on PIP to look for a new job, than to try to survive PIP. Maybe I'm wrong? However, my plan is definitely to dedicate myself even more to looking for new opportunities if I get placed on PIP, rather than allowing myself to be drained and easily pushed out the door.

Unemployment - might as well take it - even if it's beer money in some states.
Unemployment - easy to WIN

Case in point:

Years back I was fired "for cause" - which I felt unjust
HR even told me "file anyway"

I file for unemployment

Company says "Nope - 'for cause'"

Unemployment says "In detail your case against the applicant "

Company never responds. (I mean really WTF is "HR BOT" going to write a response ;) )

I win. Unemployment paid against Company, and back dated to application.

So even if PIP - file for Unemployment - probably you'll get it

Do that anyway. They are laying the groundwork to pip me. Make sure you backup and document everything in case unemployment is on the line for you. Good luck.
