Thread regarding Collins Aerospace layoffs

Announced Plant Closing Collins Aerospace in Winston-Salem, NC 11/10/2022

The head manager at the Fairchild (WS) location announced that "they" are "evaluating" closing the Westpoint location. The head manager also announced that they are "evaluating" sending the economy cabins to Kilkeel, Ireland and premium cabins to the Fairchild location. There WILL be a substantial layoff at one or more of the Collins Aerospace location(s) in Winston-Salem, NC. Management has started "evaluating" employees, supervisors and managers to determine who they can terminate before the layoffs. I wish everyone who will be affected by this good luck in starting more lucrative careers at other companies and/or other industries.

Poor management. The union is a joke, they don't want to help the employees.

According to whisperings in the area, seniority (which is determined by the union) is not coming into play when it comes to who will be kept and asked to move to the location across town. Approximately 35-50 personnel will be kept in total from both buildings. This is not verified information

The truth is every since the company was sold it has been on a down hill spiral ..they claim their closing West Point due to the pandemic and them not being able to recover from it .. but forget the fact that we were “essential workers “ and worked all the way through the pandemic now … we get blindsided and have to start over and most of us leave this company with no severance packages!! This is disgusting business tact’s and i wish i would never have them my blood sweat and tears !!!

This is literally just a scare tactic that apparently is working. Go ahead and keep posting and feeding the drama leading the sh---y employees quit ...it's what the company wants. Haha!

They make millions in profits, hire new employees, yet have NO PARTS, demand over time work hours for nothing. The parts are back ordered, order incorrect for the work and the engineers have no clue on what they are doing. They lie to the customers about their orders and then tell more lies to both customers and employees that everything is okay with their jobs. Can't build products if there are no parts.
Union is weak and it's just sad to see how mis managed this company is day in and day out.
