Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

Got laid off this week

I foolishly thought we'd be safe till after the first of the year. I know two other people who just got laid off, one I don't know well enough to comment on, but the other was an extremely loyal hard working employee who would have been a great fit in many positions, if the company had put any thought into it. Also things like severance confirmation, etc are not happening on the timeline I was given when they exited me.

Many, many layoffs more to come in the 3 months ahead. Jan and Feb will be a new org chart with 30-40 % gone in shared services and product where there’s overlap with Optum.
This is normal in deals like this - nothing personal, just business so expect this and own your life.

Wow. From the looks of it change healthcare and Optum are both toxic

It's not like everyone didn't have a few years' notice that this could/would be the case. When the first people fleeing on their own accord after the acquisition was announced were many former UHG & Optum employees, the writing was on the wall. That, and the increasingly toxic CHNG culture led me to split over a year ago. And, no, it would be foolish to expect even the smallest degree of empathy. It's a big corporation that answers only to its Wall St. master and the grail of shareholder value. Drones be damned.

No, CHC, has no empathy, no compassion. It's all about the$$$$$$ for the top execs. Really pathetic!

Just remember the names of the cocksuckers who laid you off. I'm all for spreading holiday cheer. We were led into an office and escorted out like criminals when we were laid off. They had no empathy for a coworker battling cancer. Sad reality.
