You want me in the office? Ok I’ll do maybe 3 hours solid work on days I have to commute to the office vs 9 hours of solid work on days I work from home. Don’t expect me to ki-l myself in the office. Too many disruptions with people talking. Stress, anxiety, etc. we do the bare minimum now.

To the poster that said “meaningless conversations for 20 minutes before meetings with teammates bringing their kids into the workplace, people discussing food, vacations and shopping plans etc…” Those people are the reason for RTO..They more than likely took advantage of work-from-home, were less productive and ruined it for everyone else. “I can do laundry, catch my fav shows and eliminate daycare costs - just need to send a few emails and make it look like I’m productive!” Didn’t realize how spoiled I was till having to fight rush hour traffic again…hope RTO fades slowly over the next couple of months
Decided to be in the office this week because of constant push from my manager’s end. It took me 2 hours to commute each day, approx. 2h30min to do all the small talks, meaningless conversations for 20 minutes before each meeting with team mates bringing their kids into the workspace, people discussing food, vacation and shopping plans etc. Can’t take the unproductivity if this continues or seems worsening in a few months.
Was in the office the other day. The amount of time it took to get set up and actually check emails and start working (after endless meaningless conversations) was 2 hours after I got in. Then ongoing interruptions from other people all day long. Who really thinks this is efficient? NOBODY!!!!!!!
