Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Join-arvind slack channel

If you haven’t already, ask your questions to Arvind in the #join-arvind slack channel. A few brave people have already done so.

He usually skips tougher questions, but if enough people ask about RAs/pips, hiring/salary freezes, too many unskilled managers, fraudulent sales reporting, ongoing lawsuits, fake technologies coming out of ibm research, etc, the better.

There are still more posts from sycophants than dissenters. We should change that.

Hahahaha it’s worse than cringey. Asking arvind his favorite book instead of why there is a salary freeze. Or asking him ‘what makes a great leader’ instead of pointing out the fact that the stock price goes up every time the working conditions go down.

This sounds so cringy. All the thumbs up emojis or high five emojis.

I LOVE join-arvind. It is my go to drinking game. More than a few dozen thumbs up (all skin tones count here, people) and you drink a beer. A couple of dozen clapping hands and two beers. Bizarrely, but very potently, more than 6 country flags and switch to shots.

Seriously, do these people posting these reactions think "oh, this will get me in good with the big boss?" "thank you thank you thank you, Arvind"

For the sake of my liver, I do wish they would stop posting his Arvindness' meetings before 8 or 8.30 eastern time. But the rules of the game are: a couple of dozen thumbs up.... and you already know the rest. It's not my fault if my productivity drops off on those days. I fill in the rest of those days by getting Think40 (tm) credits for watching old episodes of Gilligan's Island/CEO Office Hours.
