Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

We are standing in green grass

I get that this is where people come to complain and COP absolutely has room for improvement. However, I encourage everyone to go look at the XOM Layoff board to see how much worse things can be. I moved over from there a few months ago and I just cannot stress enough how much better thing are top to bottom over here.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am sure there are plenty of festering issues here but I encourage everyone to keep some perspective about how things could be.

All complainers are toddlers asking for more num nums like I said in earlier post. They should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t know how I work with such ungrateful lot.

Solid logic, OP.
“It’s worse at other places, so quit complaining.”
I’ll use that logic next time I’m spanking my kid. “Y’know junior; the kid down the block gets hit with a leather belt, you should be thankful I’m just using my hand”
Stockholm syndrome is alive and well at COP!

100%. But you can't reject all complaints because things could be worse. That is a parents #1 fallback when their kids won't eat something because they don't like it and the parent says "You should appreciate this food, there are starving kids in ___________". There is truth in that, but it doesn't completely void the fact that maybe the kid genuinely doesn't like xyz. We can state that we know we all make decent salaries, have top notch amenities, and a cush work-life balance .. . . .but, xyz is ridiculous.

I still think our performance ratings and assignment of those ratings are bad -hehehe
