Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Torturing us with our fates

A lot of areas and individuals won't know their fates until 1st or 2nd quarter 2023. They give thousands of Allstaters this vague information where they don't know if they are being transferred to another employers or laid off but it is one or the other...and we have to go through holidays not knowing what is in store for us several months down the road. How vile and evil these people are! I think it is actually fun and a get off for these sick individuals. Does anyone know that they are 100% retained with Allstate or is everyone in the same boat of fear and uncertainty about being moved to a vendor or out of a job altogether?

@1hpr+1jAbyXxm- I think all told it was more like 7000-8000 employees were let go. Allstate padded the numbers by slight of hand moves like saying that people hired elsewhere were just position transfers and even though the employees that originally held those positions were let go, the positions were just moved and so as far as paper goes the positions were still there albeit in a foreign country and stuff like that. And like you said this is the M.O. of this place... and I agree with the OP, it is pretty sick what these aholes do to hard working dedicated employees just to get a bigger bonus and stock options.

2019 they did the exact same thing. Then laid off appropriately 4700 employees beginning in February-December. Some areas were told on christmas day. If you think transformative growth and that they will ever be transparent, think again
This is all very strategic
Well orchestrated and intentional. People will get fed up and quit. Seek employment elsewhere. Due to.the mental and emotional stress of not knowing. Grow weary of the vagueness. Lack of definitive answers. Management and higher ups were & have been briefed on this going back month's. They want you until they don't need you on their time table. They don't want a mass exodus. Yet, they also don't want to pay out severance packages, unemployment and minimize the carry over to the vendors. Well calculated attrition & retention.

It really IS torture daily. Don't know whether to hang on with hopes of severance or leave now before the job market floods with all the unemployed people.

Licensed agents phones with Esurance are going to vendors and unlicensed to claims. Processing is up in the air with what you said just wait and see until you know your fate.
