Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate.com and 800

As I work for an independent agent, I constantly have people call or walk in that need service on the policies bought online or 800. They say they can’t speAk to a real person. With policy security we can’t access with a policy number. If they have a policy number I find the ccc agents don’t know the difference between comp and comp with glass. Now that they don’t assign to offices for e&0 it’s not worth adding your I’d to the policy. I refer them to the agent of record at 800 and assure them they can speak with a licensed agent to help them through the coverage.

The insurance industry as a whole is going in the toilet. It doesn't matter if it is SF, Allstate, Farmers, or Independent.

I have had more friends screwed over by independents than by the majors, but when you are the one screwed over it doesn't matter who the carrier is.

We just had 2 independent agencies close up where I live in the past month, one of them emptied out their offices over the weekend, there were people commenting on the community FB page that when one of the customers reached out they found out their policy is with some office 60 miles away.

Yet another reason I steer clients to literally ANY other carrier.
Allstate has gone from one of the best to the worst in an astoundingly short period of time.
