How much longer before this company goes bankrupt?

Why do you think the $1.7 billion dollar super duty roof settlement is being fought so hard? A few more of those lawsuits and its game over. The culture of "only bring me good news" management prior to Mulally, and since Mulally, is coming home to roost!

To those who think subscriptions services are the way... I am an old fa-t and I don't pay for any nonsense because I am an old fa-t. My children and their friends don't pay for prescription services because they are cheap and only look for ways to get digital things without paying. So if current and prior generation are not interested who is? Other than management marketing wizards who are running things so smoothly now?

"Long term automotive careers will be few."

At Ford, agreed. Ford is not long for this earth.

One thing to keep in mind. The F150 requires a lot of workers to produce. EVs, data, subscriptions do not. After getting rid of a large share of workers, the company believes they can be profitable - especially with the help of government subsidies. Even many of the Model E jobs with the "right skillset" are relatively short term. Long term automotive careers will be few.

I think of Nickelodeon blues clues when I hear blue cruise…aka accident waiting to happen.

Blue cruise is a d-mb name.

A subscription for Blue cruise is $600 for three years. Under IRS revenue recognition rules, the income is recorded as $200 per year for three years. At $200 per year revenue, , you need to sell 25,000,000 three year subscriptions to equal the annual $5 billion profit generated by just the F150. WE DON’T SELL THAT MANY VEHICLES!!!

Wake up to financial reality.

To the last poster, the math just isn't there! Even if every owner of a self driving car bought Blue Cruise, the resulting revenue would be a blip on the radar. And I expect that they ones that do buy it will not renew once the initial subscription runs out. There are just not enough roads supported.

Also this "plenty of news" is completely devoid of actual numbers. Vaporware, and you're believing the marketing speak! Proof that there is a su---r born every minute.

Did any of you read the September sales story on atFord?? There was plenty of news on subscription sales on Bluecruise and other digital products.

I don't believe in your negativity on the opportunities with data and subscription revenue streams.

@ @vdm+1j4d2sN9, the delusion is strong with this one! 🤣

Tesla is diversified. They're ki----g it in charging infrastructure, solar panels, etc.

Ford has profitable ICE vehicles.....and that's it. And the quality of those vehicles means that even that is coming to an end.

The data and subscription dream is years, if not decades away from fruition. Ford doesn't have that much time. Further, their subscription strategy is non-existent. Just a bunch of "me too", tired ideas that your smartphone, and Carplay/Android Auto are already capable of.

Bill put all the chips on BEVs and data/subscriptions. The result will be bankruptcy or being bought out. 5 years might be too long of an estimate.

I feel bad for the people that have 20+ years in and expected a full retirement. Hopefully, they've been contributing the max to their 401k.

@vdm+1j4d2sN9 Ford is doing something that it never attempted to do in its past. Don’t be delusional. If the customers don’t want BEVs where will that leave Ford? Basically made a huge investment with no return. Who will pay for that? Everyone.

Tesla will go bankrupt, and GM for a second time, long before Ford ever does.
