Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

ELT has no interest in Citrix being a great place to work

I honestly don't think this ELT has any interest in Citrix being a great place to work.

$16.5 Billion is a lot of paper. What do you think their priority is? It certainly isn't making you happy. It is driving you into the ground until we have heart attacks and die from stress, or we quit for a better life. What he wants to see is mostly everyone leave so they can replace us with younger, lower paid employees that will happily work 18 hour days until they grow up and realize that this isn't the life they wanted and move on.

Legally speaking, if you are laid off, they cannot replace you for a year without offering you the role back. Layoffs are for roles that are eliminated. He doesn't want to eliminate the roles, he wants to eliminate the people.

Citrix is going the way of most tech companies that end up in the toilet. Treat your employees like commodities instead of humans. Guilt them into working excruciating hours and if they don't, they can put a ding on your record that eventually will lead to termination. It will legally be justified by Gomes and his team. THEN, they will replace you with someone younger, not as smart or talented, but is willing to give them everything they want, which LONG hours for SHORT money.

This is the future of Citrix. The glory days are over and are never coming back. the sooner everyone realizes that, the better off you will be.

I am speaking as someone that has been here a long time and today's GEM was the most disappointing meeting I have ever been a part of.

Why is everyone saying the BU goes away? It'll get trimmed down, they will drum out the last aspirations anyone has about changing the world and it'll be fully locked into cash cow mode. Then TK will be trotting off looking for innovation through acquisition. That's the only innovation mode I think he understands. The MD in India is going to be the 2nd highest profile position in the company within 18 months as everything gets trimmed out and moved to one of those three magnificent sites CSG now owns, where they will lock up a great place to work award again. If you don't like it do what every other decent piece of talent is doing, hope you either get a deal to leave or you get more time while you are looking elsewhere.

Do you guys think that doing layoffs is the business plan? 3-5 year ROI is the plan. Layoffs are really just a tiny portion of that, as product lines are cut or sold off in pieces. While cost cutting is important, but don't be surprised if there is some select hiring being done at the same time. It's not just cutting costs but also keeping revenue or even growing it in some areas. Cash flow is the big thing.

This won't take 3-5 years to conclude. Whoever said that is uninformed, or lying. It'll be over and done for most employees in a couple more weeks. Wait and see...

The only priority is maximising their investment over the next 3-5 year horizon.

Whatever it takes to do that, that’s what will happen.

Let's be honest, TK inherited two old-school software company train recks with many challenges that were festering without credible resolutions for a long time. The PE owners now want him to clean up that mess, cut costs where possible, and make some of the remaining asset remnants ready for a quick sale.

With all due respect, this isn't about any 'future outlook' possibilities or a 'great place' for employees to work. The time for that is long past. Don't blame the new ELT. They likely agree with your assessment. Yes, it's the end of the road...

Actually, it was. From 2002 - 2008.

You are overthinking it. Citrix has no future! Vista will get rid of the BU as soon as they are able. There is more than one BU on that presentation slide that will be going away.
