Some serious competition for TK & co.
A different Florida CEO who loves staff in the office.

The meeting was so uninspiring I decided to go watch a movie on the Boeing 737 Max problem to cheer myself up. Today's world is what it is. It is all about money. Could always be worse. And it will be. Day by day
Correction... They THINK they have our jobs documented...

They won't replace you with younger professionals. They've already replaced you with teams in India and Vietnam (in the case of TIBCO). Those guys and gals are just waiting for you, the US and EU teams, to throw the towel, to start doing your jobs. Professionals in Asia accept the authority of being told to be in the office and to work long hours. The cultural norms are different there and the leadership knows they can exploit them.
They have your US/EU jobs and processes documented. They've been planning for this for many months, quietly. The teams in India have received information about the changes in advance. Sorry folks: the leadership and team managers in Asia have known about the changes for some time and have passed some of it to their teams in confidentiality (source: public channels in the TIBCO slack).
Shifting your (US/EU-based) jobs to Asia is the only way forward, economically, for the BUs to survive. There's no going back.
The new boss was a celeb on his recent tour of Asia. They adore him for creating new jobs there. What's left of the products is a commodity. It doesn't matter where it comes from.
It has been sh-t for a while, now it is going to get worse.
I honestly don't think this ELT has any interest in Citrix being a great place to work.
$16.5 Billion is a lot of paper. What do you think their priority is? It certainly isn't making you happy. It is driving you into the ground until we have heart attacks and die from stress, or we quit for a better life. What he wants to see is mostly everyone leave so they can replace us with younger, lower paid employees that will happily work 18 hour days until they grow up and realize that this isn't the life they wanted and move on.
Legally speaking, if you are laid off, they cannot replace you for a year without offering you the role back. Layoffs are for roles that are eliminated. He doesn't want to eliminate the roles, he wants to eliminate the people.
Citrix is going the way of most tech companies that end up in the toilet. Treat your employees like commodities instead of humans. Guilt them into working excruciating hours and if they don't, they can put a ding on your record that eventually will lead to termination. It will legally be justified by Gomes and his team. THEN, they will replace you with someone younger, not as smart or talented, but is willing to give them everything they want, which LONG hours for SHORT money.
This is the future of Citrix. The glory days are over and are never coming back. the sooner everyone realizes that, the better off you will be.
I am speaking as someone that has been here a long time and today's GEM was the most disappointing meeting I have ever been a part of.
Hasn't been true since they pushed out Kirill.
