If you think the pension being "fully-funded" today makes you safe, you are WRONG! Better find a good financial advisor and talk to them. A pension only has to be funded to 55-ish %! Don't think it will impact you? Ask people from companies that went under how their "fully-funded" pensions now only pay them 55% or less!

I am sticking with monthly payments and passing on the lump sum. Pension is well funded, so when (not if) Ford goes bankrupt, most of the monthly benefit should be preserved.
