The Ford F-Series (including the F-150 and its bigger siblings the F-250 and F-350) was involved in more fatal accidents over the course of our study than any other car, truck or SUV. The vast majority were for the , which accounted for 65% of all fatal F-Series crashes. The F-Series is also the most popular truck in America, having sold nearly a million units in 2018, which may partly explain why it's involved in so many fatal crashes. However, the frequency of fatal crashes doesn't seem to affect the cost to insure these trucks: the Ford F-Series is the fourth-cheapest vehicle to insure in America.

Stupid article as it doesn't take into consideration anything more than gross number of fatalities. When a vehicle is a hot seller for decades, it's going to rank higher.

SUVs and mainly Trucks are the vehicles Ford has prioritized. If the market loses confidence in Ford's ability to produce its most important vehicles with the expected quality then what hope is there for its future? Electric or ICE, does not matter.

I don't blame the assembly line workers nor the engineers. These issues are the result (IMHO) of bean-counters in management looking for a quick profit and executive bonus at the expense of the future.

I don't know about fatalities but I do know that my F-150 has been in the dealership for the past 5 out of last 6 months. First, it was the torque converter and both manifolds. Then we had it for a month and now the engine is losing compression. It is still at the dealership and will be for at least another month. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty.
