Glad to hear wireline may be leaving this hypocritical company. Maybe they will buy out my pension. Better yet pay our pension like they did when were at Ericsson.

Musk is good at getting Government money. Tesla wouldn't exist without it. Maybe he decided to buy a bargain fiber network.

Rumor is one of the cloud companies want the fiber and buildings. Supposed to be three companies investing together.

SprintLink_wireline is indeed something to behold. It’s like a living museum of 1990s technologies with fancy sonet gear, some old class5 and cr-p packet switches cobbled together with mid-2005 access and core gear. It’s the best of the worst. Sometimes one of the 100s of OSS works. The buyer is obviously after the profitable government contracts.

Everyone that actually knows the buyer is under an NDA.

Who's buying it?

The buyout was mandated by the buyer. They didn't want to pay the high wages of people with 30 to 40 years plus with Sprint. Allot of them are taking the offer. It is the exact severance everyone that got laid off is getting. The difference is, Wireline gets to pick when they leave. Many are waiting until the first of the year.

Rumor has it that all wireline were offered a 3-3-1 package. That seems reasonable.
