Mysterious Avaya Deposit

Anyone else get a pending deposit from Avaya into their bank account over the last few days, separate from monthly paycheck? Several employees are reporting deposits of 4 days worth of pay being deposit with a release dates of this coming Tuesday?

Avaya and telephony are dying animals with no future. They can't even see that today's telephony is a dinosaur. Avaya WILL NOT be here in 12 months. They will either be bought by another smarter innovative telephone company or shrivel up and die. I fear Avaya is way too late to the Digital Cloud arena to be a viable option. Goodbye Avaya and good riddance!!!

That last comment was clearly planted by Apollo/Akin group as it's ridiculous. No group believes Avaya can't make it. These cuts are the necessary bridge to free up expenses to ensure Avaya makes it. ALL, PLEASE KNOW the regular comments about GAAP Accounting and doom are because there is a nasty PE Firm who wants to force Avaya into bankruptcy. WHY? Because they bought the 2028 notes and would have first dips to pick up Avaya assets. They are ignoring the improving stock price (market cap) and reality that Avaya will right size. Don't allow these greedy ba----ds who never put an ounce of sweat equity into Avaya be able to take it down.

Having worked with Love and passion for the company, they decided to lay us off recently because they saw our assistance as a "redundancy". My manager said the department in charge doesn't see any possibility for avaya to survive, but I am not allowed to so say this in public. I feel like such an Enron kind of situation is going on. They made us believe that we have to push clients to take contracts with us and behaving all sticky. I'm quite done with this company. Executives earnings bonusses if they get more contracts or their sale numbers are up, shady practices and fake revenue numbers by onofficial GAAP accounting. Of course this was doomed from the get-go. They should have stayed on the sidelines like in 2017. This company had no chance. Take care!

In my case on July 13th, quick meeting, informing me this is my last day.
If I sign the termination notice, 6 weeks severance but wait, did not receive severance pay until Aug 31 payday. Beware my old friends.

Once again, none of us are in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

This is most definitely our last paycheck for 4 days in September. The math works out for each of us.

If you got this payment, click the Up button on this post.

How about this…
Rather than feeding more FUD, how about someone who received funds compare the value to their recent ESP deductions to see if the numbers match. I for one never participated in the offer…I learned from a previous work experience about ESP’s

Could just be the ESS refund that will be repaid to scheme members

It’s a bit sad to find out this way (from a random deposit) from payroll. I have never been laid off before. Any words of advise on how to navigate the inevitable meeting on Tuesday?

US layoffs probably mean this is your salary through Tuesday. Once you sign your NDAs and severance agreement you will get your agreed upon payout in an actual check by month-end. Double check your health insurance be sure to keep up with your cobra premiums. Also ask about life insurance since that's not usually part of your package. Good luck everyone.

Colorado law requires payment for all time worked within 24 hours of termination.

Which state would you guess has the most Avaya employees? We know NOT NC as that was an HQ just because JC lived there, and no other reason.
New Jersey? Texas? Just go to the top 3-4 states where there is a large group of employees, and research any WARN Act filings. That should give some insight. Granted, they may not post until Tuesday AM. (With remote work being so common now, the federal government should really have a central reporting system and not this state by state requirement). Requirement is if 50 or more is impacted, they must file a report. Yet since it is by state, it will only show if 50 min were impacted in a state.

All banks have different processing. For example, I foud I was paid earlier when I had my check going to my credit union account vs my Chase Account. My credit union would never inform me of pending deposits, they would just appear. Chase would also show what was pending. Therefore, I would suspect the different dates are more due to each employees unique banks.

Funny how they pushed the ESPP when shares were trading at all time high and now that the SP in the sh.t pile they withdrew the scheme. They really don't want us to participate in Avaya recovery. I feel for anyone who was duped into the scheme even at the 15% discount you'll never break even or it will take at least 10 years..

They seem to be done in blocks as some received the deposit notification last week after payroll and some are just now showing up. All are pending release on Tuesday. Maybe they are processing them alphabetically????? Either way, it is definitely ominous.

If it's just some employees, it would make sense that r days would cover Sept 1,2, 5,6 for payroll for those whose last day wil be Sept 6. They wouldn't pre-arrange a deposit for severance as that requires an employee signature. That would be the single best insight into who may be impacted on Tuesday.

None of us participated in it and no HR record of these pending payments. Maybe layoffs are coming Tuesday.
