Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

You can’t put 10 gallons through a 5 gallon pipe!

Wise words from my manager, but now, with so many of the great and experienced sales engineers gone to the competition, he is now having to double up on my accounts, telling me that it would be good for my career.

I’ll take my medicine, but don’t tell me that it’s sugar! Will he double up on my pay?

Time to call my old team mates!

You know what you can’t do? Put 10 lbs. of sh|t in a 5 lb. bag. You can overstuff the bag but it will rip, overflow, make a mess. The only remedy: another bag or a larger bag.

O will never give you either, instead will blame you for having too much sh|t.

Working harder won’t work in Oracle, you work harder, they will give you more work. Work smarter than harder is the way to go, people been doing it, what you paid is what you get, they paid you less than market value, then work work less, not more.

“ Actually, you can. It just takes twice the time. “

A good high school debating response.

This is gaslighting, or a form of it. They don’t do it this way in Japan!!!

Telling you that as an ind contributor you are responsible for cleaning up mgmt failure, and it’s going to be “good for you”.

Although “quiet quitting” is a misnomer, it exactly describes what you need to do in this situation. Call it work to rule, or putting in your 8/day or leaving on time, whatever. Then take that time for yourself, do some training or better yet to look for a new gig.

Yes let him do some work
You do only what you have been paid to do and let him either do the additional or find help. If the VP took the money and there’s no budget to pay you more - don’t do it.
Let them have to answer for their mismanagement.
Most unethical Mgmt.

He’s needs to jump in and do some of the work. It’s responsibility.
What’s he going to do, fire you?
I don’t think so.
