Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Don't get too comfortable too soon

I see people have accepted that layoffs are done and it's time to move on. If you think like that, you're guaranteed to be caught with your pants down when the next round hits - and it will hit, guaranteed. I'm thinking we'll see more cuts before the end of September.

Leave if you can. If you can't get a job outside start working on your skills.
At Ford you working on borrowed time and it's running out.

Just get used to quarterly cuts as the new norm.

Why would they cut again in 2022 when a large percentage will leave on their own if taking the lump sum pension package? That in and of itself is a huge number. They'll probably cut again first quarter of 2023.

I'd caution anyone to closely listen to these town Halls and meetings. Everything is very carefully worded and leaves things open purposefully. Company not heading in a great direction and do you want to constantly feel like you're in a purgatory waiting for judgement day?

September is too early. The next round is in December before the vacation.
