After surviving several layoff rounds, here are my rules for the purge:
- Create weak links in the team by badmouthing colleagues every opportunity you get
- Send more emails to show your productivity
- Send status updates whenever a tiny thing changes to show progress
- Pick easier tasks and offload difficult tasks to chumps
- Offer colleagues help in difficult tasks but leave them hanging
- When they finish the difficult task, present their work as your own to your manager
- Offer to review everyones work who wants it and sow doubts
When the purge begins, you will seem like the rockstar to your manager and your colleagues will look like purge material.
