Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Never experienced such bad treatment anywhere else

I have worked in several companies both in this industry and outside of this industry, but nowhere have I experienced such bad treatment as here. Applying to Allstate was my biggest mistake.

Did you also get the impression that the superiors enjoy watching us work in uncertainty while worried about whether we will lose our jobs? It is not worth investing even a minimum of effort here.

I don’t know if things are better or worse for staff counsel. I was referring to DRS leadership.

@1jwt+1ipYVwl4,
Before 2020 in Legal - do you think that things are better in staff counsel?

They took a gamble in attempting to lead the forefront of all insurance companies in being the most innovating and introducing/pushing technology such as virtual assist video inspections, estimate share and moving many claims and processing jobs overseas. This resulted in massive layoffs since the pandemic back in 2020. Now Tom and his high level staff are evaluating their changes and also bringing back claims staff in certain markets as needed along with removing Glenn since his approach was too aggressive. Other insurance companies are taking note. Allstate feels comfortable having shops write the estimates and do most of the work , thus not needing many auto adjusters in the field. They really screwed up the property side of claims and desperately need adjusters back asap.

We’ve been played that’s for sure. Leadership at Allstate has been indoctrinated with teachings of a particular cult from the 1990’s that they bought into back then. Ever since, this company has been ran by master manipulative narcissists. They know how to spin bad results to make them sound good. We exceeded a service level in auto? In reality we didn’t meet the service level so there isn’t anything exceptional about it. They twist the meanings of words around so you can’t readily decipher what is going on as the work piles up and on you. Zero transparency. There is no such thing as transparency at Allstate. Nearly 2 years in with transformative growth and we still have not been told what the vision is in the next 5 years. Instead, you now know what movie is Mario’s favorite and who his favorite rock band is. Be truthful Allstate. Maybe more will quit or retire then and you can save on severance with the next rounds of layoffs

Employees have been saying the same stuff for the past 50 years. Move on or move out- those are really the only two options. Constant whining has never solved one issue- ever

Before 2020, not all was fine. Some terrible leaders in Legal. Rhonda wisely got rid of them.

the tipping point has been reached. it will accelerate in a vicious cycle. Fin results are bad, agencies are leaving, premiums are going Way up, more policyholders defect, morale is in the toilet. Use your deductive reasoning to determine the trajectory of the company. hinging your financial future on mere hopes that it will turn around or waiting for superman , will be a major regret five years from now. just my two cents

Making us take a “personality” test, with puzzles, in what was clearly a ploy to lay off senior/high earning employees, was awful treatment. Allstate should be ashamed of itself.
