I am so grateful for the food discount, what a fantastic perk! Right up there with center stage points and annual pay increases of 1%! Gotta respect this organization for really giving a Cr$p. Talk to anyone that isn’t a Director and up if they honestly enjoy their job and how the company views and treats you, and it should be no surprise to anyone that their response is an eye roll. If you don’t have to pay for your kids college or have some other big financial reason for remaining an employee- get out. There is nothing, nada, zip, zero about working for Metlife that is genuinely enjoyable or adds value to you as a person. It is phony through and through!

High performer and never get even 3 percent. Why try?
@"Leader and people manager" - Why don't you give 0% to the ones you don't want so you can have more for your faves?
To the OP - You’re right - If you specifically are getting 1% raises, it may be time to move on. As a leader and people manager, I am balancing merit increases across the team… some may be as little as 1%, while others receiving merit as high as 5-6%. Your 1% is funding your managers ability to give others more.
@5dhk+1iomNZOM I'm glad you were able to find something better! I hope more people follow in your shoes. I'm not around anymore to find out but there would be something immensely satisfying about USB being reduced down to just Prof. Tadros left to run the place.
For anyone still on the fence, take one of those resume sessions they're offering employees now (LOL) and use it to get a job out of Met instead of piling on more work with mypath.
AVPs are taught by their company provided "executive coach" to be aloof and standoffish to all those beneath them and given the green light to treat peers and above like actual human beings. I see this happening with all the AVPs at my location and it's laughable that they believe their don't stink.
Meh, I'm a Director and hate my job. Maybe AVP and above.
Unless you are an overpaid favorite-- get out!!!
Hesitant since I was a 10 year vet.
But, WOW! It honestly was the best decision. I make more and I am happier! Several friends and family members have noticed.
