Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

That is not always possible

Everyone here says that it's not worth putting in too much effort and exhausting yourself because Allstate doesn't value it. That I agree with, however, can we all apply that advice here? My opinion is that we cannot. Some may be able to work on autopilot and fly under the radar, but my manager expects maximum effort from me. How some people manage to do the bare minimum and still keep their jobs here is a mystery to me.

It depends on your position. If you are handling claims and reviewing bodily injury demands from attorneys, it is very difficult to just go on autopilot. You are expected to meet deadlines. You’re expected to settle claims. Don’t do that? You will face the consequences. It is possible to float through a day here and there. But the work has to be done, or it will be noticed. Your numbers will sink. Your job will be in jeopardy I think. On the other hand, maybe they are so desperate for bodies now you can get away with it for longer than I think.
