Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Will Ford be around in 2030?

Will Ford be around in 2030?
And how big or small of a company?
Will they do commercial vehicles only? or they will make cars too?
Why the quality of Ford vehicles is so bad?
Why so so many recalls?
Is it management, staff quality or process ?

Don't forget that the last pensioners will expire in 2034. So, I think the big downfall will occur after.

My take is this.... Ford just (or will shortly) alienate 3k ex-employees (with many more on the way), a lot that will never buy a Ford product (aka POS) again. They in turn will influence friends and family to do the same. They will alienate those that realize that Ford doesn't hire American workers. Then you have those foreign workers that Ford has replaced us with with substandard wages that probably will never be able to afford a car at all.

I'd say chances are pretty good. Ford has pretty much already given up on the car market. My guess is that they will be bought out and the Ford name will be associated with the dregs of history like Sears and Kresge.

This company has no competition in the interceptors market. It will stay for a while.

If they send JF packing today it might have a chance. They are still selling vehicles. You want a big Bronco it will take a year for it to be built. Just go to a Ford dealership. They are still selling vehicles. Most people lease for 2 or 3 years that can afford it. Even an Escape will take 3 to 4 months to get. Nothing on the lots. Look at all the flooding down south. Just think of how many vehicles have been trashed and need to be replaced. Ford is not going out of business anytime soon. I don't know why JF and BF think the way they do.

I don't expect this place will survive a decade as an auto manufacture. The name may still exist, but it will no longer be what the name currently conjures up.

Pretty sure Ford is still a Fortune 500 on F-Series alone. Even if they keep up the last 5 years of stupid, that'll coast em through at least another decade.

At some point we will merge with Volkswagen. We're currently determining what to sell in Europe with respect to VW; and despite the 10's of billions the Germans have spent tying to grow market share in the U.S., the can't crack it. Meanwhile Volkswagen does better than Ford in the rest of the world. It makes total sense!
