Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Make sure every LinkedIn offer you receive is legit

A lot of people will be applying for new jobs and there are a lot of as-----s out there who'll try to take advantage of them. Please be careful. In case a job offer sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. I know most of you wouldn't fall for the usual scams, but it doesn't hurt to remind everybody that if a company asks you for money in advance (to ship you equipment or something else), don't do it. Also, research the company and the recruiter before accepting any offer. There are too many lowlifes who can't wait to profit off of people's misfortunes.

Very little on LinkedIn is legitimate. Remember it is owned by Microsoft, and globally other users are gleaning personal information about you from it. I stopped using it after the purchase by Microsoft.

Some of the recruiter posts I've seen read like ambulance chasers.

Can't be any worse than the scam Ford pulled! "Here, give me several years of your life, as well as blood, sweat, and tears. And just when you're headed towards retirement, we'll pull the rug out from under you!"

Ford is a scam.
