Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Cuts in 2019-2022, and more coming!

There have been cuts each year from 2019 through 2022. Ford is not done! $3B more in cuts by end of 2023, remember?!

Get out, get out. They are cutting their knowledge, talent and loyalty in favor of quiet quitters and those with NO loyalty to employers because their parents were impacted by ridiculous cuts like these that only benefit shareholders and those at the very top.

I was cut from Ford 2008
So happy they did!
As I remember every couple of years there are more cuts and more Cuts in the engineering departments!
have they not finished all the staff yet how many Engineers these guys have.
Why they don't just cut all the engineering and move to India
It's cost less there and I am sure they will get the best talent in India look at all the CEOs in us they are from India.
Also they should move all their dealership to India they should just sell all their cars there 1.5 billion population much better than 300 million we got here.

@nyd+1inPG1Cj. I am a professional. I give a sh-t about the quality of my job. However, I no longer spend time in endless discussion with managers trying to push them to do the right thing.

Now I deliver my projects and designs, refusing to amend those as per the managers' wishes (I am willing to do it if there is actually a technical error on my part). A couple of my projects were reassigned after completion, to other coworkers, so the end results would match certain expectations.

As I said multiple times, my job is to engineer solutions, not to babysit clueless people. I am not a magician neither: my solutions are constrained by the technical requirements, timelines and funds assigned to the project.

The company keeps losing talent. I see some wrongs decisions being made. I no longer speak about it, unless it is under my responsibilities. In the best scenario, that would mean irking some manager, in the worst scenario, I would end doing the work that some clueless ba----d should have done properly. I speak from personal experience, no good deed goes unpunished in this company. Being a "team player" only means you'll end overworked, while another will reap the glory of your work.

There is rarely any talent if you have been working at Ford for 3 or more years.

If you call creating Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations are talent, because that is all Ford salary employees do.

When it comes to design or create something new or different, they outsource it to suppliers, then the engineers write PO to pay for it.

After 3 years, I have lost all of my engineering skills. However, I am good at Excel and PPP, just like all other GSR.

I work for big three and don't give a sh-t about my job or the product!
I was cut before and know all it take a phone call at Friday 5 PM. It takes 3 min.
Work the minimum if you see something is wrong don't fix it until you are asked. Remember when the phone call comes, millions you saved the company and the 4 patent you filed to help the growth and non of your papers will help you. You are a number in the MBA guy's excel file row number X-X X-X.
So just enjoy your job and laughing at management ignorance in math and physics!
