I used to care too much about what happens in this company, but now I don't care at all anymore. Why should we care, if it is very obvious that even those in the highest positions do not care? The only feeling that bothers me is the feeling of uncertainty, because I would most like to be paid to leave and I can't wait for that to happen. I think most people here are just waiting for the package?

One of the big issues I see is many of the current workforce has meet the retirement age/can already retire and has "silently quit" and this is not from the recent news but has been doing it for the last 5 years from my experience of the people I work with. I am afraid the news has accelerated that process and will just lower productivity/eagerness.
Package. Package. Everyone is just hanging on waiting for the package. No wonder Avaya is in the state it's in. Should be thankful. I know folks that have left companies and its 2 weeks pay, your 401K and your on way. Your pension is Social Security.
I felt the same way that you are feeling. The uncertainty sucks, I told my boss that I don't care anymore and to lay me off, I would ignore calls, complain and barely do anything. They got the hint and gave me a vtp offer which I took. There are other things in life that are more important than work. The severance helps but also plenty of jobs all around. Sucks to work for a company that doesn't care about you.
I wonder how much is going to be included in the package?
