“Ineligible for re-hire”

Anyone else informed during separation that they will be ineligible for future opportunities down the line?

It’s not that I want to “return “ to Ford. It is about being blacklisted by new companies. Legally a potential new employer can also ask your prior company three questions: start date, end date, and eligible for rehire. Google “ineligible for rehire”. It Carrie’s very negative connotation.

standard boiler plate phrase, if you are in good with a manager or supervisor you can get rehired if they need you.

That is standard practice with most companies. If you are laid off and take a severance you can't be rehired. Nothing personal.

Layoffs are perfect times to get rid of those who weren't a good fit but weren't quite bad enough to terminate without jumping through a bunch of hoops. They don't want you back... so why would you ever want to go back? Find a better fit. It's out there.

We went through the same BS at GM 3 years ago, so our hearts with you folks !! They did tell people that were let go you cant come back but we saw people getting back as soon as one month. I personally know at least 6 people who got rehired in the past 3 years. Good luck to all .. keep you heads up and start applying !!

Didn’t that happen with visteon spin-off and with past layoff with severance? I wonder if some were able to be re-hired years later? I had someone work for me who took voluntary in 2009. Came back as contractor then recently got hired direct.

In 2019 the LL3 emphasized multiple times during the firing that you would be ineligible for rehire. Then less than a month later he gave one of his LL5s permission to pursue bringing back one of the fired tech spec LL6s as a contractor, as shxt was hitting the fan. The fired tech spec told the LL5 to take a hike.
I know of one fired in SRD who did come back as a contractor for 6 months and then quit.
I know of zero fired in SRD who were re-hired.

So get this, a lot of team members were separated today with less than 1 year of experience, this means they’ll never be able to come back. No difference between 1 year or 20+ years. You could do all the right things and still not be reconsidered for employment.

Everyone who went out in 2021 had to sign waivers to get the money and the medical. It doesn't matter that had great skills the upper management doesn't want you back as a Ford employee or a contractor.

Sounds like the same mumbo jumbo all over again, across all of the automakers. Everyone's expendable at all times.

The sooner you figure this out, the better your world becomes. Go start something for yourself, that doesn't require a need to rely on these automakers.

@msn+1imW8Xja,

This doesn’t make any sense, what if you’re in the earlier parts of your career and laid off? You’re banned from
returning even years later?

Ask yourself whether you want to be rehired by the company which has not valued you? You have a right to be upset, but it will pass. I'm in the same position as you. Returned my laptop and monitor today, will do phone tomorrow as it was disconnected. Will read the SIRP tomorrow and get an idea of next steps.

once u accept the package and sign the waivers you're done at ford - make no mistake - this was farley's way to clean out - out with the old and anyone that didnt fit his or your manager's view of whatver makes a good employee - am i upset - damn right i am - did my job well - got good reviews, none of it mattered
