Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Were these cuts inevitable?

I believe that, if anything, the scope of cuts could have been smaller.

How many brand-new, additional LL2 and VP roles have been announced in the past couple years? 50-ish?
By separating Blue and E and Pro businesses, we duplicated many roles.
Example from past announcements:
Michelle Puccio appointed Chief HR Officer, Ford Blue
Tracey Pass joining Ford as Chief HR Officer, Ford Pro

There rather just make the big cut and if they did an oopsie, no big deal. You got rid of people with pensions and higher cost employees. Employees are just a number and that's it. Who cares of the knowledge that left out the door. You can be replaced unless you're an exec making over one mill, than your protected.

They could have been much smaller, along with Bill Ford’s, Farley’s and Executive salaries and bonuses. But they won’t choose that option.
