Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

I've never been this tired

I'm tired and frustrated over being so overworked. I'm not the only one. I see my coworkers getting burned out and leaving for jobs that pay less just to get away. I'm not going to be far behind them. Not that anybody will care. Management seems happy whenever somebody leaves. I guess it saves them money if we walk out instead of having to pay us severance to leave. I don't care, to be honest., I just want out at this point.

Same. The only reason I haven’t flat out quit is because I don’t want to miss a severance package I assume is just around the corner when they want to offshore my job to a lower pay region. If they could hurry up already they would be great.

During a Town Hall the president of Tap said that Tap reminded her of a country song called Ride or Die and we would either ride together or die together. It was done right after the programmers were all let go. The entire department was in total chaos and the entire speech was completely clueless.

@jrf+1ilUgzfd Just curious. What was the “ride or die” statement?

Stock price is still near an all time high. Until the stock price is negatively impacted by layoffs or low morale, don't expect any changes.

I walked after more than 21 years. Right after the "Ride or Die" statement followed by the statement that Subject Matter Experts were no longer important to the company. So I took my knowledge and walked. I now make 30% more money building new products for a competitor who appreciates my Subject Matter expertise.
