Jimmy gets the golden parachute no matter what happens so I don't think he's too worried. He's been looking forward to this week

I agree that Ford is making a mistake if they are putting all their eggs into EV. Elon is already ahead of the game by diversing into other areas (e.g. Starlink - rural and RV internet access).

theory: main reason for recent fomoco profits is supply constraints due to covid panic. wait till we go back to oversupply per usual. wham. even ICE profits low. they think they will make tesla levels of profit when every auto co is cranking out EV vehicles? ha. confucious say: fool and money, soon departed.

When a company cannot deliver their base vehicle, which they have been producing for over 100 years, with quality; why would you expect them too successfully execute EV? Quality delivery starts with robust engineering and execution, something Ford has not shown they can do.

Agree with previous poster. China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam auto manufactures have or are building EV plants in the US so their EVs qualify for tax credits. All have a better track record than Ford. Ford ceded the affordable reliable auto market to the above a long time ago. Now they will take the EV market.

I think this whole ev transition ford +for ford is a cover up on how bad the financials are doing. They are selling less vehicles for more profit? ???And they have less vehicles to choose from and a big development bill for the new vehicles. Add to that they are spending more than a drunken sailor for facilities and EV….think about it …would you accept a job from a company who was laying off in mass for year after year and quarter after quarter? I wonder if the books are up and up as well or is there an air of Enron is going on here. I don’t see the growth story for this company. They are shrinking in every region and gave up on others. Selling 30000 broncos or whatever lightning doesn’t make them a success. Maybe the consulting firms set up the company for failure for other financial reasons.

Ford will never return to its former glory. By putting all their eggs in the EV basket they have sealed their fate.

EV’s rely on Asian electrical components and raw materials. Any political issue or worse could cause the supply chain to slow down or grind to a complete halt. No components, no EV production and Ford will be hurting.

Mary Barra, CEO of GM is smart. She said that GM will continue to make gasoline engine vehicles as long as custom demand is there.

@mld+1ilMdCfU. Exactly. He will be lauded for a job well done.

He will throw his customary temper tantrums when the ship runs aground.
