Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Executive terminations?

If Ford is terminating 6% of North American salary jobs, shouldn’t 6% of our 102, count them, 102, executives be eliminated as well? Why is so much management necessary for fewer employees? Losing six or seven of them would save many $ millions.

Maybe Phoebe at the Detroit Free Ford Press will take on that story, since she missed the boat on todays job cuts?

colleague of mine at another auto company had his last day here friday, Aug 19...he started at Ford today as a salaried employee. Battery. So they aren't completely being dishonest.

The Head PR weasel had this to say:

"So net-net we’re adding more jobs in Michigan," Truby said. "It’s a rebalancing because those jobs that we talked about adding were hourly employees. The jobs we’re talking about today are white collar. On an absolute basis, we’re still adding employment in Michigan if you look at both commitments.”
