Layoffs are supposed to start tomorrow, we're about to lose thousands of employees supposedly to save costs and yet we are still hiring. Dozens of jobs, if not more, have been posted on LinkedIn in the last seven days. Shouldn't we have a hiring freeze if major layoffs are on the way? What's the point in laying people off if they're adding new employees at the same time?

@OP. Dozens of jobs have been posted, but how many were actually filled? Maybe it is an H1B visa push, and the first step is to post the jobs, then refuse to hire any American, and say publicly "we don't have the right talent", to finally end hiring foreigners on H1B visas.
Pension vs non-pension.
lower cost!
Remember: "We don't have the right talent."
