Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How does it work for Agency?

I doubt there's the IM/Meeting with your manager. Is it just a call from your agency person?

Last March I was let go at the end of the day, while working late.....by my agency.

typically you get a call from agency contact on friday at end of day telling you you are done

Sometimes Ford is told to separate you before your agency knows anything. Either way, you are notified by your Ford management or (ideally) your agency. There is mass confusion. The process is not always executed according to plan.

When I was let go in 2009, the one contractor I supervised got a phone call Monday evening and was told not to report to work the next day. I got laid off on Tuesday.

That will be mostly at the end of the day. You cannot login after 5pm. Worst case your supervisor may not answer your call.

Agency recruiter calls you and tells you not to reach out to any one, not even mangers and within 5 mins your access is blocked. Can’t even download anything or send a email from your personal gmail. Very brutal !

I was part of the first cut on July 1st and my agency called me at the end of the day but this rounds sounds even more brutal.

Agency usually gets calls from his/her agency company. Not from Ford Management.
