Does ombuds do anything? Is it worth calling?

Artificial lift in claremore desperately needs an investigation team to comb through management at this place. The plant is getting closer and closer to a breaking point it seems and management has no clue while they play their games and act like little dictators. Doesn’t ombuds investigate this stuff?

Ombuds sole existence is to shove it up your Budds and protect the company from legal liability.

Don't call them unless you really enjoy a good Budding!

Ombuds was who people called when management was stealing down ho-e cable out of the shops. It was a major cable theft operation from three shops. The Omsbuds guy had a criminal degree, worked in the government, and worked with a few major banks. He got so deep into their lives, he knew their spending habits and how they ran their families. None got caught because they were fired for other reasons before they could be charged, or they got scared and quit before any charges were filed. Look into who runs Ombuds before you call. Remember Ombuds is not looking out for your best interest.

There is some incompetent former HR lady running the HR investigations. She reports to the terrible new guy referred too. She was too stupid to make executive in HR so switched over to ombuds. That should tell you all you need to know. They’ll talk a big game how they’ll get to the bottom of things and protect you, it’s all BS. Best to keep your head down and find a new job elsewhere

If you raise a formal grievance they are forced to investigate however, although there is a no retaliation policy in place, good luck arguing if they do indeed retaliate. Retaliation can be very subtle. The grievance process is something to use only after other ways have been tried (raised the issue as appropriate with either the direct manager, n+1, ombudsman or HR). Whether it is worth pursuing this road, it really depends on how bad things are and on the specifics of the case (can't be a "general vibe" kind of complain, needs to report the specfics of an actual "event" or a series of events that happened in the last 3 months).

The new guy they brought from the outside is worthless. Done bother, whatever wrong was done will be swept under the rug. He and the company are more worried about the easiest path possible.
