Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford Executives are paralyzed

Ford NA is losing a high percentage of the new people they want keep and the “legacy people who do not have the skills and are not trainable” are staying. Go to CDSID and do a search for employee type I. The top floor at WHQ is panicked, they have decided to terminate approximately 1800 people the week of 8-22 to get rid of the people they want gone. They will then have a Town hall to say all is good to try and stop the talent they want to stay from leaving. This is a short turn event, once IERP and Digital Thread is implemented they plan to terminate another 4,000 NA salary employees next year.

If they change your cdsid to "I" before they let you go...you are unable to log in to see your meeting notice, or use Webex.

The people who sold Ford LL2+ on implementing iERP expect a 40% reduction in workload AND that most of the LL6/GSR work can be done in low-cost countries. Same model as accounting going to the "center for excellence" in India a years ago. NA Finance is going to get ki---d in 2Q23. The Mexico “center of excellence” will be fully operational by year end.

OK, so I looked up Digital Thread. Got it. Just didn't remember the buzzword bingo lingo. To the condescending a-ho*e that couldn't just answer the question there are people that actually work on engineering and delivering products for Ford. Not everyone can be working on the Ford+ transformation and hanging on every word Jimmy says. Companies need to actually sell product and make money to survive. So simmer down skippy and try do-g some adulting. With your attitude, I hope you are shown the door next week. See ya.

If you do know what digital thread is, you realize no areas are safe.

If you don’t know what digital thread is, you must not work at Ford (or at least in salaried areas that will be saved).

iERP is not on hold. It's scheduled for next year 1st or 2nd quarter.

There is another field in the employee record that laptop software reads to determine if the employee can download files, email to external addresses with attachments etc. That flag field is set on when the layoffs begin for all the target employees. I don’t remember the offset of the field in the record, someone else might know.

I'm not sure if I type includes long term leaves since my experience in watching it is that inactive is a short-term place holder set at the start of the separation process and once the process is complete (usually ~3 days) the ID drops out of CDS completely. For example, when there was the mass hit to agency earlier this year I saw 1000+ ID's with type I and when checking again the Wed or Thurs after that there were zero returns.

For reading the modified timestamp it's YYYY MM DD hh mm ss (and millisecond precision if it's longer than those 14 digits.

From my observation from the layoff in April, The CDSID changed to I (inactive) only "after" a Ford employee is laid off, not "before".

This thread makes no sense. IERP was put on hold indefinitely. Digital thread is at least 2 years from completion.

And just like every other initiative at this company, they're trying to do both on the cheap which means neither had a chance of working. The quality will be awful and they'll spend more fixing and maintaining then they did developing them. Just look our vehicles!

As I said before, I'm here for the trainwreck.

When I look up my super super cds, the very last line is date last modified. Does anyone know how to read that long number?

You’re saying they already changed CDSIDs to I (inactive) for those exiting next week?
(It’s also used for those on long term leaves.)
