I bet that all folks at a VP level or above is a little anxious today. They now know that none of them are safe. If Shapiro can be kicked to the door, any of them can….
Now they can look over their shoulder like the common Allstate employee does…..
There ain’t going to be enough lifeboats on this sinking ship…. ; )

The guy that did the firing is the guy that gets fired
he needed a head to feed to the Board. it is what happens when quarterly results consistently aren't met. if you dug yourself a ho-e, first step is to stop digging
Wasn’t fired? Wake up and understand business as that’s what it was.
And although Shapiro wasn't fired, Tom fires executives all the time.
So, "the outsider" Shapiro gets to be the scapegoat / human sacrifice. All the lifers who've been "failing up" in the organization for decades are still there, still covering their arses (their only real skill).
Eric Brandt will be next. In part because it's impossible to lipstick the claims pig at this point, but also because he's an outsider.
I hope that a--ho-e Mike Dunn goes with him!
Shapiro wasn't fired. He retired. Sorry.
Ease up. He was one employee- life goes on and so will Allstate.
Think he was bad wait until Rizzo buries the company in a nose dive. His lack of energy and enthusiasm will set the Allstate back 30 years on the map.
The experience of Glenn was very eye opening. Shocking how one individual with an incredibly poor track record can skate along, destroy a fortune 100 brand, and slide on out with a retirement package. The board should assume full responsibility for their short-sightedness. The concept was a sham. It still is a sham. It will take years to rebuild the trust in this company for both our employees, shareholders and most importantly our customers.
Expect significant losses for the next several months and possibly years. If/when we do get a mega event we are quite honestly in no position to respond. Sadly Allstate has positioned itself to suffer some of the worst losses in history. This is the tip of the iceberg even without a large event and if anyone realizes this it should be Rizzo. I look forward to watching the evolution unfold. I am not overly optimistic that a recovery will be handled with any success due to extreme disconnect between leadership, customers, and frontline employees. From the front line it seems so evident where our shortcomings are. Everyone up top knows better...
