Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

It is necessary to finally stop it

It is impossible to stop attrition but it is possible to slow it down at least a little. I thought that those at the top would finally do something to stop the negative trend of the most skilled people leaving the company, but no.
What's the problem? Is everything out of control and they can't retain people or they just don't care enough to do something about it?

Hitachi Ltd. definitely acted like Robin Hood stealing money from HDS and giving it to the less fortunate divisions to prop up thier bottom line. Now that HDS has become Vantara it is now one of thier less fortunate divisions as well. Global Logic was the death nail to Vantara's coffin.

IMO Hitachi Ltd didn't sc--w anyone. They were just inept and prideful to a fault. They hired the wrong people because they didn't know better and then they couldn't admit they made mistakes so they let these failures ruin the company/culture and put Vantara on the ropes

Ltd has invested at least 20 billion over the years on HDS, HCC, and now Global Logic. I kind of feel sorry for them, but then pi---d about the opportunity that was wasted.

Hitachi Ltd. screwed Hitachi Data Systems for years. Took all of the profits to cover the losses in loser divisions like Hitachi Metals. When they created Vantara, it so became the swan song for this company. What's left is one broken business that can't sell $h!t.

Hitachi is not better than a lot of places. It is worse than most.

When I was a vp at HCC we saw tremendous turnover and it's only gotten worse. The only way to 'fix' it is to replace people leaving with better talent. Hitachi is not able or willing to do that and has replaced with lesser talent at all levels. You are left with a company that is destined for failure.

Most companies are battling this. Hitachi is better than a lot of places. No company expected this. It’s worse because Vantara isn’t profitable, so the more it competes on benefits, salaries and talent, it is harder to become profitable.
Sad bc people and culture here are better than lots.
