I was cut two years ago. I've moved on since and managed to find a better job but after two years I still can't let go of all of my anger. I keep remembering how often I worked late, on weekends, and holidays, how many times I went above and beyond to help out, and how I never complained and still ended up cut without a second thought. I'm mostly angry at myself, but I'd lie if I said I don't hold major resentment toward this place. I still read this forum and I see things are the same as then. I guess they'll never learn not to treat loyal employees like that. I'm glad I'm gone, but I wish I could let go for good.

Time for you to change your diaper
I was laid off from AIG in 2010. I still resent them for it. I don’t dwell on it anymore, but it surfaces if I happen to drive by. I stuck by them through their worst time, but in the end, it didn’t matter. Just like this place. The only difference is here, I can see it coming and I welcome it.
@ort+1igiIAaI LMAO at your superior intellect. I spelled 'wrong' wrong for emphasis on how wrong you were.
Either you're not an employee of this company and just a troll, or you're one of the new hires from the pizza delivery boy pool of employment. Either way companies owe OT for OT worked.. ITS the LAW!!
@mzd+1igiIAaI= You're WORNG!!!!! they owe you overtime BOYO!!. Unless you are one of the unfortunates that followed this sinking ship to a place that allows the company to exempt you. As for the OP, you were done a service by this company.. trust me, the worst is yet to come. The ones who are still there are suffering (they just dont know how bad it is) its like people in abusive relationships. They keep making excuses for their abusers rather than just bail. But once they are out they look back and see how blind they were to the real abuse they were putting up with. At least we dont have to experience the suffering and we can observe from the outside. Also, its a better idea to start anew somewhere else and not spend another 3-4 yrs (or however long it takes for the sell off of this company to complete) then age yourself out of the market and a chance for a good career at a different place. I feel bad for the friends that still work there but they should've seen what was coming. It was pretty obvious years ago when TG started.
Work smarter, not harder is so overused its not even funny. What that means these days is you need to leave the company because they will make sure you "work harder, not smarter" when the processes they have in place don't function correctly. By itself, this makes your job more difficult even before you address the volume of work. Clearly whoever came up with that phrase wasn't given ENOUGH work to do and I don't know those people (upper management?).
Lol, just lol, Allstate be livin RENT FREE in yo head BOYO. My brother in Christ, it is time to move on, and probably go to therapy
Loyal and hardworking employees doent mean you are the best, efficient or maximize your worth compared to salary.
No company owes you anything for staying late.
It seems to be your perception that they retained people who didn't work as hard as you or some others did. You're probably right. Work smarter, not harder.
