Chaos is what happens when you start laying employees off based on salary and the cost of benefits. The “leadership” team only cares about the bottom line, not making Centene a successful company in the long-term. We can’t even keep the promises made in the state contracts because many of those departments and key employees are gone. The lay offs have been so unpredictable that they appear random. It’s the true definition of Chaos.

As a “Leader” you are told to "Look at the big picture" Being leadership in a company who is constantly and repeatedly sued for millions and millions of dollars isn’t much to brag about.
To me, the writing is on the walls. The competitors in the space are seeking Centene‘s market share and winning state contracts like never before. Having said that, Centene will have to layoff as their business constantly shrinks despite what Sarah London is doing to cut costs by eliminating real estate, selling off bad acquisitions from MFN, and any other value creation projects she can come up with to look good for stockholders before she leaves the company herself. Furthermore, the CIO and CTO have been ignorant enough to feed the machine that is Aws and Amazon that is going to also steal Centene‘s market share. Yet they keep their job along with the other middle-age white guys that leave the company. No diversity in IT.
As a leader I can say that is a false assumption of “all leadership”. I coach and support my team always. I also think there are more factors involved than salary and benefits. With recent acquisitions there are many shared services and overlap of roles etc. a bit is based on individual performance I’m sure as well.
